Our
favourite Twilight star Robert Pattinson
is the cover star of the magazine GQ- September’s issue.
In
the GQ’s interview Robert
Pattinson tells the readers about the incredible steps he took to avoid
being pursued by the paparazzi and his fans at the height of his fame.
The
31-year-old met the fame after starring in the hugely popular Twilight franchise and is now rumoured
to be in the running for an Oscar for his latest role in the crime-drama Good Time.
In
his most recent interview, Robert looks back on the nightmare of dealing with
fame in his early career, explaining: "There are ways to disappear, like,
fairly easily. But you have to be living a quite strange life. It just involves
effort, and most people can't really be bothered to put the effort in.”
“They're
just losers trying to do their jobs," he says of the paparazzi that have
pursued him.
Robert
reveals some of his cunning methods to escape the paparazzi, for example, changing
clothes in the toilets of restaurants, while his friends called a number of
taxis that were sent in different directions so the paparazzi couldn't track
him.
The
interview also gives details how Robert once kept five rental cars in different
parking lots around his neighbourhood so that if he was being followed he could
change clothes and drive off in one of the vehicles.
Robert
said he would drive round for hours to avoid giving away where he lived.
He
added: "It worked after a while. They're just like, 'Oh, the guy is just a
hassle."
The
actor spoke about one occasion he directly confronted a member of the paparazzi
and asked them to leave him alone.
Robert
said the man replied: "My boss says I can't come back until I know where
your new house is. Sorry, man."
Speaking
about growing up since the film's release, Robert added: "I want to be
misunderstood."
"People
are always changing, and the more you put something down in print, people form
opinions and they're constantly creating who they think you are.
"If
you do something that contradicts that, or if you do something which goes out
of that box, then you can look like a liar or something like that."
Robert
didn't want to speak about his girlfriend FKA Twigs, who he adorable refers to
as Twigs, in the interview. The star previously admitted they were 'kind of' engaged. Rob says he is
protective over their relationship and finds it hard not to be more public.
