Robert
Pattinson will be honored at the 2017 Deauville American Film Festival, it was
announced Tuesday. Additional honorees and the festival’s lineup of film
premieres have also been unveiled.
The
actor was originally slated to attend the festival in September 2015 to collect
the Hollywood Rising Star Award, but had to cancel his appearance due to
production delays on his film The Lost City of Z. As Gossip Cop reported, Pattinson
also skipped the Venice Film Festival around the same time due to the
scheduling conflict, but many tabloids falsely claimed he bailed on the event
to avoid running into Kristen Stewart.
The
French festival, which is dedicated to American cinema, will also honor Woody
Harrelson, Darren Aronofsky, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Michelle Rodriguez
during its 43rd edition. There will also be a number of big American movies
making their French premieres at the fest, including Pattinson’s latest movie
Good Time, directed by brothers Josh and Benny Safdie.
The
Festival will run from Sept. 1 to Sept. 10.
